There is many ways of taping your crested ears.  The methods vary from breeder to breeder.  The  size of the ear may be quite different from one dog to the next... I usually wait until the pups are about 6wks of age, but more likely 7 weeks old to start taping.  At this age I usually have a good idea if the ears have started standing on their own.  You don't want to wait too long to start taping as sometimes the ear is taking a fold which is almost like Whippets or Italian Greyhounds would have. If the dog turns out to be a dropped ear so be it, but I prefer not taking a chance...By then some have theirs half way up, I had some that at 8-9 wks old had their ears up and I have some that at 7 months old I am still taping.  But here is goes and I hope it helps you.

I use Kendall tape which is made by Curity.  As you can see it has strips it in, which helps the skin breath easierlp the skin to breath better.... This tape is available at Pet Supply House in Canada...I do not know where they carry it in the United States I'm sorry.  A MUST have as well is this STR tape remover which also can be found at the Pet Supply House.  This remover is odorless...somewhat quite oily thou, but sure works magic!

You next step will be to roll a paper towel in a tube like shape...I find the Bounty half sheet works great.Depending on the age and size of your dog, folding the paper towel may vary considerably.  At this time my "Model"...puppy..."Chillie" just needed this height, which was the half of a towel folded in 3.
